Communications Minister Visits Jeddah Tech Firms to Support Digital Commerce

Minister of Communications and Information Technology Abdullah Alswaha visited Salla and Classera in Jeddah as part of the ministry’s efforts to support the growth of national technology companies and enable smart solutions for vital sectors and Hajj and Umrah services.
 During his visit to Salla, he discussed opportunities to support digital commerce, empower company and enterprise growth, and develop smart solutions that enhance user experience and support the digital economy.
 He also reviewed Classera’s smart education and digital capability-building solutions, as well as the company’s role in fostering innovation and developing educational and technological models that contribute to future skills development.
 The minister also witnessed the signing of an agreement between Classera and Zain KSA to provide integrated smart educational solutions aimed at developing more interactive and innovative digital learning environments.

Digital Entrepreneurship Council Hosts Hajj Minister in Jeddah to Support Tech Innovation in Pilgrim Services

The Digital Entrepreneurship Council (CODE), affiliated with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, hosted Minister of Hajj and Umrah Tawfig Al-Rabiah at Dar Al-Hekma University in Jeddah, in the presence of Minister of Communications and Information Technology Abdullah Alswaha and the participation of a number of entrepreneurs and investors from Makkah Region.
 The council discussed the use of technology, artificial intelligence, and digital solutions to improve the Hajj and Umrah experience and enhance the quality of services provided to pilgrims, in addition to supporting the growth of tech startups and enabling them to develop scalable innovative solutions.
 It also included a tour of the CODE Lab at the university, during which models of technological solutions and digital innovations developed by entrepreneurs and startups to support Hajj, Umrah, and visitation services were showcased.
 The council emphasized the importance of enabling startups and investors to benefit from promising opportunities in the Hajj and Umrah sectors and develop innovative business models that support the growth of the digital economy and enhance innovation in services provided to pilgrims.

H.E. the Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Eng. Abdullah Alswaha, held an open meeting at Prince Muqrin bin Abdulaziz University in Madinah with a number of entrepreneurs, university graduates, investors, and representatives of the technology sector in the Madinah region to discuss growth prospects and emerging opportunities in the digital economy and artificial intelligence, as well as the role of the business community and universities in enhancing the region’s competitiveness, stimulating innovation, and supporting the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.

The meeting discussed enablers for advancing the technology and investment environment in Madinah, mechanisms to empower entrepreneurs and startups, and ways to capitalize on the rapid growth of Saudi Arabia’s digital market, further strengthening the Kingdom’s position as a leading global hub for technology, innovation, and the transition to the intelligent era.

Alswaha emphasized the importance of seizing high-potential opportunities available to entrepreneurs and university graduates to build innovative business models and develop AI-driven digital solutions that contribute to the growth of the digital economy, improve service quality, and maximize the impact of technology across priority sectors, in addition to enhancing the experience of visitors and pilgrims, leveraging the unique advantages of Madinah.

The meeting was accompanied by an exhibition featuring national technology companies and university students in celebration of World Information Society Day, where participants showcased their innovations and digital solutions across several promising technology fields. The exhibition reflected the capabilities of national talent and the role of universities and startups in building a competitive and growth-oriented innovation ecosystem.

The meeting comes as part of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology’s efforts to empower the technology entrepreneurship ecosystem across the Kingdom’s regions, strengthen engagement with investors, entrepreneurs, and university graduates, support startup growth, and develop national capabilities, contributing to building a thriving digital economy driven by innovation and knowledge.
