Minister of Communications and Information Technology Abdullah Alswaha, accompanied by Governor of the Communications, Space and Technology Commission (CST) Eng. Haytham AlOhali and Saudi Ambassador to the People’s Republic of China Abdulrahman Al-Harbi, held a series of meetings in the People’s Republic of China with senior government officials and technology executives to discuss opportunities for partnership in artificial intelligence, the digital economy, technology transfer, space, and emerging technologies, further strengthening the strategic partnership between the two countries.
Alswaha met with Minister of Science and Technology of the People’s Republic of China Yin Hejun, and the two sides discussed enhancing cooperation in artificial intelligence, the digital economy, technology transfer, and talent exchange programs, as well as expanding the presence of leading Chinese technology companies in the Kingdom.
In the space sector, Alswaha met with Administrator of the China National Space Administration (CNSA) and Vice Minister of Industry and Information Technology Dr. Shan Zhongde to discuss opportunities for cooperation in space technologies, expanding partnerships in innovation, and developing capabilities related to the sector.
The minister of communications also met with the executive leadership of Moonshot AI, the developer of the Kimi large language model (LLM), to discuss the development of large language models and AI-powered generative technologies, as well as technology transfer and commercialization, supporting the growth of the Kingdom’s digital economy and emerging technologies.
In addition, Alswaha met with Chairman of ByteDance China Zhang Lidong to discuss cooperation in generative artificial intelligence, data centers, algorithm development, and large language models, as well as expanding the company’s presence in the Kingdom, contributing to the growth of the technology innovation ecosystem and enhancing the competitiveness of the digital economy.
These meetings build on the Kingdom’s efforts to forge high-impact international partnerships, attract advanced technologies and investments, develop national capabilities, and strengthen Saudi Arabia’s global presence in technology, artificial intelligence, and space.

Minister of Communications and Information Technology Eng. Abdullah Alswaha met with Saudi male and female scholarship students in the People’s Republic of China, in the presence of Saudi Ambassador to the People’s Republic of China Abdulrahman Al-Harbi. The meeting was held as part of efforts to strengthen engagement with national talent and inspire them to contribute to shaping the future of the digital economy and technological innovation.
During the meeting, the minister emphasized that investing in people is the cornerstone of the Kingdom’s future, noting that Saudi talent studying at global universities plays a pivotal role in strengthening the Kingdom’s competitiveness and global leadership in technology, artificial intelligence, and technological innovation, in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
The meeting also featured an open dialogue with the students, during which they shared their academic and research experiences, discussed their future aspirations, and explored promising opportunities to contribute to knowledge transfer, localize advanced technologies, and advance technological innovation and technology entrepreneurship in the Kingdom.

Minister of Communications and Information Technology Abdullah Alswaha led a high-level Saudi delegation on a series of strategic visits to major technology firms in Shenzhen, China. Accompanied by top digital, space, and cybersecurity officials, Alswaha focused discussions on partnership opportunities in artificial intelligence (AI), digital infrastructure, robotics, cloud solutions, and digital entrepreneurship.
During a meeting with Huawei's David Wang, Alswaha discussed expanding cooperation in AI and cloud computing. He also met with 20 gifted Saudi students who completed an advanced AI training program hosted by Huawei in partnership with King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity (Mawhiba), highlighting the vital role of national talent in achieving Saudi Vision 2030 goals.
The delegation also explored future technologies with automation leaders, meeting with UBTECH Robotics executives to discuss smart robot deployment, and with Intellifusion's Dr. Chen Ning to evaluate joint initiatives in AI inference chips, computer vision, and smart city solutions.
Concluding the tour, Alswaha visited the KAUST Innovation Hub in Shenzhen. He met with entrepreneurs from the ninth cohort of the Tech Founders program to discuss pathways for enabling Saudi startups to access Shenzhen’s manufacturing and investment ecosystem, reinforcing the Kingdom's standing as a premier global digital economy hub.
