MCIT Announces the Quantum Challenge in Partnership with IBM and the Saudi Quantum Technology Association

The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) has announced the launch of the Quantum Challenge, in partnership with IBM and the Saudi Quantum Technology Association, as part of a five-day educational and competitive experience taking place from November 9 to 13, 2025.

The challenge aims to raise national talent awareness of quantum computing, enabling participants to program using Qiskit and develop their skills in solving quantum optimization problems (QUBO/VQE/QAOA) and their applications in artificial intelligence.

Combining hands-on training with applied challenges, the program offers participants a comprehensive journey — from understanding the fundamentals to developing quantum-based solutions for real-world problems — thereby contributing to the preparation of a new generation of innovators capable of harnessing quantum technologies to serve the Kingdom’s digital future.

The ministry invited interested university students and graduates in computer science and advanced technologies to register for the challenge by November 1, 2025, via the following link:
