Communications Minister Meets Global Technology Companies in Hong Kong to Strengthen Partnerships
Minister of Communications and Information Technology Abdullah Alswaha held a series of meetings with leaders of several global technology companies on the sidelines of his participation in LEAP East in Hong Kong. The meetings were attended by Communications, Space and Technology Commission Governor Eng. Haitham AlOhali, Digital Government Authority Governor Eng. Ahmed Alsuwaiyan, and Saudi Federation for Cybersecurity, Programming and Drones Chairman Faisal Al-Khamissi.
The meetings explored partnership opportunities in artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing, data centers, and investment in advanced technologies to support the growth of the digital economy.
The minister met with Tencent Cloud Chief Executive Officer and Tencent Senior Executive Vice President Dowson Tong to discuss cooperation in cloud computing, data centers, and AI to support the development of digital infrastructure.
He also met with Sony AI President Michael Spranger to discuss collaboration in AI research, advanced AI applications, and fostering innovation across future-focused sectors.
As part of efforts to promote investment in advanced technologies, the minister met with Boyu Capital Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer Dr. Louis Cheung. They discussed investment opportunities in AI and support for the technology innovation ecosystem and digital entrepreneurship.
The minister concluded his meetings with Galbot Founder and Chief Executive Officer He Wang. They discussed partnership opportunities in intelligent robotics and AI technologies, as well as their industrial and service applications to accelerate the adoption of advanced technologies.
The meetings formed part of the Kingdom's participation in LEAP East to strengthen international partnerships with leading technology companies, attract high-quality investments, and advance the Kingdom's goal of building a competitive digital economy driven by innovation and AI.
