Communications Minister Meets Digital Economy, Communications Ministers
Minister of Communications and Information Technology Eng. Abdullah Alswaha held a series of bilateral meetings with digital economy and communications ministers from member states of the Digital Cooperation Organization (DCO), on the sidelines of the organization’s fifth General Assembly, to strengthen international partnerships in the digital economy, enable technological innovation, develop digital services, build capacity, and adopt emerging technologies in the age of artificial intelligence (AI).
Alswaha met with Kuwaiti Minister of State for Communications and Information Technology Omar Al-Omar to discuss enhancing strategic technological cooperation within the framework of the Saudi-Kuwaiti Coordination Council, supporting innovation and capacity building and empowering entrepreneurship between the two countries.
He met with Jordanian Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship Eng. Sami Smirat to explore partnership opportunities in developing the digital economy, adopting emerging technologies, and advancing technology entrepreneurship.
In a separate meeting, Alswaha held talks with Lebanese Minister of the Displaced and Minister of State for Technology and Artificial Intelligence Kamal Shehadeh on strengthening cooperation in the digital economy and fostering innovation in the age of AI.
As part of broader efforts to enhance international cooperation in technology and innovation, he discussed partnerships in AI, the digital economy, and technical capacity building with Pakistani Federal Minister for Information Technology & Telecommunications Shaza Fatima Khawaja.
He also met with Gambian Minister of Communications and Digital Economy Lamin Jabbi to discuss expanding partnerships in the digital economy, developing digital services, and enabling technological innovation.
