Saudi Arabia Highlights Efforts to Bridge Intelligent Era Gaps at G20 Meeting on Digital Economy and AI
Minister of Communications and Information Technology Abdullah Alswaha participated in the G20 ministerial meeting on digital economy and artificial intelligence, chaired by the Republic of South Africa.
In his speech, the minister highlighted the Kingdom’s efforts to bridge the gaps of the smart era, including computing, data, and algorithm gaps, while emphasizing the importance of promoting digital inclusion, innovation, and trustworthy AI.
He also reviewed the achievements and initiatives undertaken by the Kingdom, supported and enabled by His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, in realizing the Kingdom’s ambitions for leadership in the Intelligent era.
The Kingdom is working with its partners to achieve balance by addressing key gaps through accessible computing powered by the largest AI data center, promoting the presence of the Arabic language models in Ai applications, and assigning King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) to lead AI safety and security efforts.
