ختتمت وزارة الاتصالات وتقنية المعلومات، بالشراكة مع شركة IBM، برنامج القيادات في التقنيات الكمّية في مدينة زيورخ السويسرية، بهدف تعزيز جاهزية القيادات وصنّاع القرار لاستثمار فرص التقنيات الكمّية في مجالات الحوسبة والاتصالات والاستشعار، ودعم الابتكار التقني.
وقدّم البرنامج، الذي استضافه مركز أبحاث IBM الأوروبي، تجربة معرفية وتطبيقية ركّزت على تقييم الفرص والمخاطر المرتبطة بالتقنيات الكمّية، واستشراف انعكاساتها المستقبلية على القطاعات المختلفة، وتطوير السياسات الداعمة للاستعداد لها. وجمع بين المحاكاة العملية والحالات الدراسية الدولية، لتمكين المشاركين من توظيف المعرفة التقنية في اتخاذ قرارات إستراتيجية واعية.
وشمل البرنامج زيارة مركز QuantumBasel في مدينة بازل السويسرية، للاطلاع على منظومة الابتكار في الحوسبة الكمّية وتطبيقاتها العملية، والتعرّف على تجربة المركز في التعاون مع IonQ، بما يعمّق فهم القيادات لمسارات انتقال التقنيات الكمّية من الأبحاث إلى الاستخدامات التجارية.
ويأتي البرنامج ضمن جهود الوزارة لبناء القدرات القيادية في التقنيات المستقبلية، وربطها بالخبرات العالمية، بما يدعم صياغة السياسات المحفّزة للابتكار التقني، ويعزّز استعداد المملكة لفرص العصر الذكي.
Minister of Communications and Information Technology Abdullah Alswaha held bilateral meetings in Seattle with the leadership of Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft to discuss expanding the Kingdom's artificial intelligence infrastructure and computing capabilities.
During talks with AWS CEO Matt Garman, Alswaha reviewed accelerating the expansion of the AI Zone developed in partnership with HUMAIN, deploying AWS Trainium accelerators within Saudi Arabia's computing ecosystem, and integrating AWS AI services to support large-scale model operations.
In a meeting with Microsoft Chairman and CEO Satya Nadella, the minister discussed fast-tracking AI solution adoption across government bodies and private enterprises, as well as strengthening national workforce capabilities in advanced digital technologies.
The discussions concluded Alswaha's official visit to the United States, which aimed to deepen strategic partnerships with global technology leaders, develop critical digital infrastructure, and reinforce the Kingdom's position as a regional hub for AI and the digital economy.
Minister of Communications and Information Technology Abdullah Alswaha concluded the fourth day of his visit to Silicon Valley with a series of high-level meetings with global technology executives and venture capitalists, aimed at expanding strategic partnerships in artificial intelligence infrastructure, semiconductors, advanced computing, and local manufacturing.
Alswaha met with NVIDIA Founder and CEO Jensen Huang to discuss scaling AI factories developed by HUMAIN in partnership with the firm, adopting next-generation platforms to accelerate AI model deployment, and expanding national infrastructure capabilities.
In talks with Intel CEO Lip-Bu Tan, the minister explored expanding semiconductor and advanced computing collaborations, localizing solutions, activating Intel Foundry operations in the Kingdom, and integrating Intel technologies into HUMAIN's computational ecosystem.
Discussions with Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) President and CEO Antonio Neri focused on accelerating local AI hardware manufacturing and integrating HPE's AI factory frameworks with HUMAIN's computing infrastructure.
To drive tech financing and startup growth, Alswaha met with Kleiner Perkins Managing Partner and General Partner Mamoon Hamid. Discussions centered on expanding investments into Saudi AI and deep-tech enterprises, attracting portfolio companies to establish Saudi operations, and linking domestic startups to international venture capital networks.
These engagements support Saudi Arabia's strategic drive to embed itself in global AI and semiconductor value chains, localize deep tech, attract foreign direct investment, and enhance the digital economy's global competitiveness.
